8U-10U: Learn to Swim and Play

2024-25 Information

LEARN TO SWIM & PLAY WATER POLO WITH OUR 8U & 10U PROGRAM

This is our introduction program and is ideal for athletes who are still developing their deepwater swimming skills.

We place a lot of emphasis on teaching kids all of the basic swimming strokes so that they can be safe in the water and take full advantage of the sport.

Approximately half of the time is spent on stroke technique and correction (i.e. learning to swim) while the other half is developing Water Polo skills and playing games.

Once athletes can swim freely in the deepwater, they will be encouraged to do most of the practices in the deep end.

8U: athletes born in 2017-2019

10U: athletes born in 2015-2016

FREQUENCY

1x to 2x/week for 1-Hour/practice

WHEN & WHERE: 8U Program

Practices start on October 5, 2024.

Fall: October 5, 2024 to December 21, 2024

Winter: January 11, 2025 to April 26, 2025

Spring: May to June 2025 (TBC)

Saturdays

9:00am-10:00am at Kinsmen Sherbrook Pool [381 Sherbrook St, Winnipeg, MB]

Practices start on October 5, 2024.

Fall: October 1, 2024 to December 21, 2024

Winter: January 11, 2025 to April 26, 2025
